| Hunter8 |
| Adopted! |
 |
| Hunter8 is a 4 year old guy who is an easy dog to have! He walks well on leash and does not pull or bark at passing dogs. He sleeps in his foster Dad's bedroom and no fidgeting or a peep! Hunter is housetrained, rides well in the car and is most interested in his human companions. Hunter follows his foster Dad around the house, and wants to be in the room where the people are! Hunter doesn't tolerate the antics of young children well, so needs to go to a home with only older kids. If you'd like to meet this loving guy, please call your Home Visit Volunteer!

| Missy6 |
| Adopted! |
 |
Hello, my name is Missy. I am a three year old girl who was turned in by my family who no longer wanted me. I am glad I found DLRR because they have been very nice to me. I am now with a foster family while I search for my forever home. I am very good with other dogs, (there are three here now) and I am learning to respect the DLRR test cat who lives here as well. My foster Dad calls me Happy Dog. I have lots of affection and want to be near you. They have a picture of me on the couch, have you seen it? I always ask before I climb up or I will sleep at your feet as well. I am housebroken and good on the leash. I am active and a tennis ball retrieving machine! I would fit in with an active family or with one that is quiet and mellow. I take my cues from you. If I sound like your kind of gal please give us a call. Thanks for reading about me! Much love, Missy.

| Wags |
| Adopted! |
| Hi, I'm Wags! I'm a very active 1 year old boy and, like all lab pups, I like to chew and play! Will you play with me? I like it when you throw soft squeaky toys and I can run and get them and sometimes bring them back to you! As long as I have a rawhide or bone to chew, I usually won't go after your shoes. I am potty trained and know how to use a doggy door. I love to go for walks, and am learning how to behave on the leash. I had a great time playing with other dogs at the dog park. I like all humans, too, even the little ones, although sometimes I get too excited and might knock them over! If you are ready to bring a young lab into your home, I might be the one for you! |

These adorable lab mix puppies were born on February 21, 2009 to Jemma, a beautiful chocolate lab. They were born in the Maricopa County pound... and Jemma and all 10 of her pups were facing euthanasia until one of DLRR's amazing foster families stepped up to save these beautiful furbabies by fostering them all. The pups are looking for forever homes that have the time and energy to commit to lots of exercise and obedience training. If you are ready for one of these amazing puppies, please contact your home visit volunteer. (When you meet them, please say Thank You to their foster family! :) The puppies' adoption fee is $150.00.

Rocky5
| | Adopted! |
 |
 |
| Rocky is a 4 1/2 year old English Lab who needs a place to call home. He is a very happy fellow and is great around other dogs and older children. He loves to play ball and go on walks, which is great because he is currently about 15 pounds overweight. Rocky comes from a home where he was an outdoor-only dog and his foster family is currently working on teaching him indoor manners. So far he loves to please people and is doing GREAT with his house training. He loves to be where the action is in the home, and also loves to get belly rubs and snuggle. If you would like to give Rocky his new forever home, he would love to meet you. Your name doesn't even have to be Adrian! |
| Levi3 |
| Adopted! |
| Levi3 is a handsome yellow English Lab, age 6. Prior to coming to DLRR, he was always
an outside dog. Since he has been in foster care, Levi has learned to use a doggy door, play ball, play with toys and go on walks. He was very shy and did not interact very well with people but now is finding out it is great to be loved. Levi really loves water and will stand over the sprinkler in the yard, loves a bath and being brushed. We do not know if he would like a pool because he has not been around one. He is a great companion and follows you everywhere. He needs to go to a family that will give him lots of love and does not have other pets. If Levi fits your life style, please contact us.

Gordy
| | Adopted! |
 |
 |
| Gordy is a large, tall 5 year old yellow male Lab who tips the scales in the upper-eighties. He joined his foster family on June 1st and started out with a big splash. After joining his foster parents at the local In-n-Out Burger and wolfing down a couple hamburger patties, he went home to meet the other two male Labs in his new foster home with a friendly howdy-do and the usual sniffs, and then it was off to the pool. After a lengthy swim, he checked out the yard, only to return to the pool several more times to complete a few more laps. Gordy seems to be well adjusted and likes playtime, retrieving balls, the company of other dogs, and eating! The jury is still out on cats, since his first introduction to the family cat was startling for both of them. His foster parents know that he is good with children but due to his size would probably be best with children older than 8 years. He is good in the house and loves to lay on the cool tile floor for his naps. He is a good traveler who loves to go for rides, accepts being in a crate when needed, and sleeps peacefully all night along side the bed of his foster parents. Gordy will make a great addition to a loving family who is looking for a handsome, sweet, and mellow boy like him. |
| Tate |
| Adopted! |
| If you are looking for a "BFF" (best furry friend), Tate could be the one for you!! Small in stature, but big in personality, this beautiful, 1 1/2 year old English Lab would like nothing better than to hang out with you doing whatever it is that you are doing. Tate loves to play fetch, ride in the car, or go for a walk. He pulls a bit on the leash, so some training would be fun for both you and him!! Tate is totally housebroken, so if all you want to do is hang out, he is perfectly happy with that and will never be far from you just waiting for a pat on the head. It is amazing that he is so sweet and loveable because he has some scars on his neck that the vet thinks may have been caused by an embedded collar when he was young. But all of that is behind him now as he waits for a loving forever home. Because he was obviously ignored when he was a pup, he will want nothing less than all of your attention, so he will need to go to a home where the kids are older and he is the only dog. If you would like to meet this wonderful little lab and give him the love and attention that he so desperately deserves, please contact your Home Visit Volunteer today!!!

Molly15
| | Adopted! |
 |
 |
| Molly is a fun, sweet, energetic, polite 9 year old black Lab. She loves to go for walks and is great at catching tennis balls. She is housetrained and uses the doggie door. Molly knows her basic commands, is great on a leash and can be trusted if left in the house. She gets along well with other dogs and kids (7+) but should not be in a home with cats or birds. Molly will add alot of happiness to your home!! If you would like to meet Molly, please contact your Home Visit Coordinator!
|
| Shammy |
| Adopted! |
 |
Shammy is a sweet 3 year old yellow boy who loves to be close to you. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home, but is more interested in being around people. He is around 50 lbs. so he is not a big guy, but is nicely proportioned for his size. We don't know how he is with kids or cats, but expect he will do fine. Shammy walks great on a leash, NEVER pulls. He does not jump and his foster family has not heard him bark. He is very quiet and well behaved. He has been left alone in the house with the other dogs without a problem. Shammy is housebroken and is not destructive... he LOVES being touched and petted and is ready for a lifetime of love and belly rubs at his forever home!

Jemma (Adopted!) and her pups
 |
| Jemma is a beautiful chocolate lab who was rescued from the pound
with her 10 amazing puppies on 2/21/09. Now that she has fulfilled
her obligation to her babies, it is time for her to find an extra
special forever home. She is 2 years old, weighs about 60 pounds,
loves kids and other dogs and tolerates cats. In her foster home,
Jemma is just the sweetest little girl with the most loving
personalty, but she is quite fearful of anyone new that enters her
environment. Jemma is looking for a forever home that will be very
patient with her and is willing to give her the time she will need to
settle in and learn to trust them. If this sounds like you, please
contact your home visit volunteer!

Buddy35 came from a terrible situation where his previous owner tied him on a 5 foot lead to his dog house and left him when they moved out of their house. Even with such a bad start he is an absolute doll! Buddy doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He is one big loveable teddy bear who loves to snuggle. Buddy is housebroken and uses the doggy door with ease. He walks well on the leash and is learning his basic commands. Buddy loves to shake or give you a high five!! It seems like his way of saying thanks for saving me!! Buddy is great with his foster brothers and sisters and plays continuously with his 5 month old foster brother. He is terrific in the car and loves to go for a ride. He will need some more training but is eager to learn!

Junior
| | Adopted! |
 |
 |
| Junior is a 6 year old guy with a larger than life personality! He loves to play, but his favorite thing to do is SWIM! Junior is a bit of a tennis ball addict... when you throw the tennis ball into the pool, he'll leap off the side of the pool like a dock diving retriever and bring it back - and will continue this as long as you're willing to throw for him! Junior has wonderful manners, and gets along beautifully with other dogs, cats, and children - even the little ones. He is housetrained and trustworthy in the house, and rides well in the car. He's a medium energy kind of guy; always ready to play or go for a walk, but once he's exercised he's pretty mellow in the house. Junior has a seizure disorder and requires medication twice each day, but don't let that scare you away from this wonderful boy. Seizures are a very infrequent occurrence and are well managed with his medication. Junior needs a home committed to providing the care and exercise he needs and in return, Junior will give you a lifetime of love and laughter... pretty fair trade, don't you think?

| Maggie13 |
| Adopted! |
| Maggie was entrusted to us to find a great forever home for her when her owner fell on some hardships and just couldn't care for her anymore. This wonderful girl is 3 1/2 years old, great with children, dogs and cats and trustworthy when left alone during the day. She is very loving and like all Labs, loves to give and receive attention. Her green eyes will melt you and her playful demeanor will certainly win you over.
Maggie is quite a bit overweight and really needs to lose around 20 pounds - she and will need a committed family to help her achieve this goal. While she had basic obedience training, she will need a refresher course with walking on a leash. She loves her walks and this will also help her lose those extra pounds.
If you think you might be interested in meeting this beautiful girl, please call your Home Visit Volunteer!

| Dodger |
| Adopted! |
 |
Dodger has the most sweet and easy going personality. He is 1-2 years old, tall and lanky, and is great with kids and other dogs. He is housebroken and trustworthy when left home alone. Dodger rides great in the car. He doesn't know too many commands and pulls a little on a leash, but he learns quickly and is very smart and eager to please, so training will be easy. He enjoys playing ball, laying around and being loved on by his people. Dodger is a social butterfly, so he needs to be watched carefully when the front door is open. Dodger is definitely a water dog - he drinks straight from the hose, puts his entire snout in his bowl of water when he drinks and loves to step in the pool to cool off his feet! We have not seen him swim in a pool, but if his people were in it, I'm sure he'd love to join. If you're interested in adding this sweetheart to your family, please give us a call!

| Elliott4 |
| Adopted! |
 |
| This is Elliott. Elliott is a beautiful 9 month old black girl. She is full of life, love, energy and she loves to play. Elliott is great with other dogs, cats and people. She plays a little rough with her tiny foster sister so she should only go to a home with dogs her size and older children. Elliott is crate trained. She is just now learning manners and potty training and has come a long way in just a short time. You see, as a baby she was thrown outside with her baby sister to learn right from wrong on her own. She was never made part of the family. Elliott is going to make a wonderful family member and companion. Good doggie training classes would be a great benefit to Elliot and an excellent bonding tool for Elliot and her new family. Please call your Home Visit Volunteer to arrange a meeting!

| Hoosier |
| Adopted! |
| Hoosier is a big dog with a big heart. This 3 year old chocolate lab is a great family dog. He is friendly with all people, cats, and non-aggressive dogs. Hoosier knows how to use a dog door with ease, and is also trained to sit, shake and roll over. He is mostly calm in the house, but loves to go for walks and on trips in the car. If you would like to include Hoosier in your family's activities, please call to arrange a meeting.

 |
| Maple |
| Adopted! | |
Maple is a 75 lb, 3 year old yellow female English Labrador retriever (short and blocky). She is full of late puppy energy and is one very happy dog! She is housebroken and uses the doggie door. Maple sleeps quietly on a dog bed at night and as long as she receives her AM walk, is trustworthy in the house. She is pretty good on a leash, but needs more training in this area. She is mastering her basic command training and is doing very well in a short period of time. Maple loves to be close to her foster family and gets along incredibly well with her canine foster siblings. She is good around children but is still pretty spunky, so slightly older children will be more appropriate. She will probably do great in a home with other dogs. We do not think she will be good with cats, but have never exposed her to them. She shows no real interest in the pool, but probably will with encouragement, or when at the lake. She is a very affectionate soul who just wants to please her parents and play whenever possible. If you would like a loving lab almost ending her puppy stage, and have the time to devote to her training, then this might be a perfect match. Please call your Home Visit Volunteer and ask to meet Maple!
|
| Luigi |
| Adopted! |
| Luigi is a fun and exuberant 2 year old yellow lab who is housebroken, uses a doggy door with ease and will sleep next to your bed at night (unless you want him to come up and snuggle which he is more than willing to do). Luigi knows "sit" but will benefit from obedience lessons to expand his vocabulary of commands. He is eager to learn and responds very well to training. He plays well with toys, especially with a rope toy which he will throw up in the air and catch! Luigi rides well nicely in a car either in a crate or in the back seat. If you would like a fun loving boy in your life, please contact us to arrange a visit with Luigi.

| Re-Pete |
| Adopted! |
 |
Pete is a very sweet and mellow lab mix who is housebroken, crate trained, loves to go for walks and rides great in cars. He was extremely skinny when he arrived at his foster family's home, but has a healthy appetite and is eating well now. He is also learning his basic commands and learning how to act in a large pack with his parents and siblings. Pete gets along well with other dogs, but his foster home does not have small children or cats to thoroughly evaluate him in these areas. He loves to chase balls and receive attention. He does sleep a lot but comes alive when it's time for a walk or play time. Call your Home Visit Volunteer to ask about Re-Pete!

| Duke7 |
| Adopted! |
| My name is Duke. I am a beautiful black lab puppy and for only being one year old, I am surprisingly calm... and very smart! I already know how to sit and wait for my dinner, take treats gently, and come to you when I am called. I also know how to "stay" and to walk properly on a leash. I am a big lover, very affectionate and happy, and just love belly rubs and rubs on my neck. I am housebroken and sleep like an angel in my crate at night so that I do not get into mischief or wake the family. I love to play with other dogs but sometimes forget that I am a youngster and that older dogs get tired before I do. Did I mention how cute I am? Just the right size, not too big, I could stand to gain some weight but that shouldn't be a problem with my appetite. I have bright, alert eyes, shiny white teeth and a soft, glossy coat. I also have this adorable little blaze of white on my chest. Please call your Home Visit Volunteer and ask for me -- I would love to meet you! |

Zeus is a gorgeous 4 1/2 year old yellow male lab who weighs in at 78 lb. He is housebroken and loves to go for walks and follow you around the house. He is also very good in the car. Zeus does well with cats, other dogs and is good around small children. His energy level is high for his age and likes to play ball and take long walks. If you are looking for a running or hiking buddy to give lots of TLC, Zeus is the boy for you. Call your Home Visit Volunteer to meet him!

Bindi
| | Adopted! |
 |
 |
| Bindi is a petite 4 month old black Lab mix who is full of life and love. She has mastered the doggie door at her foster mom's home, knows a few commands, and loves to play with all the other 4-legged friends in the household. Toys of all kinds are exciting to her and she is quite capable of entertaining herself. Like all puppies, Bindi will grow and blossom with the proper love and training. If you have the time and patience for raising this sweet girl, please give contact us for a visit.

 |
 |
| Wilson is a sweet gentleman with a wonderful personality. Although he is 8 years old, he still loves to go on walks and is perfect in the car. He is completely housetrained, trustworthy when left alone and obeys like a charm. He wiggles from end to end when you talk and pet him, and will make a great companion for anyone. This guy has many more great years ahead of him. Wilson gets along great with all dogs, big and small but would also do well as an only dog. What else could you ask for? If you are interested in meeting Wilson, please give us a call. He's the best!!!

| Bonita & Lucky14 |
| Adopted! |
> |
| Double the cuteness! Double the fun! This brother and sister pair are 10-month-old chocolate labs. They are quite attached to each other and can always be found side by side -- playing, exploring, or cuddling together for a well-earned nap. This duo is quite energetic and still very much in the puppy stage of life. They love to play with toys and have been very friendly with both older children and other dogs. It appears that Lucky and Bonita were previously outdoor dogs and their foster family is working with them on housetraining and learning appropriate indoor behaviors. They do travel well in the car and love to be included in all family activities. If you have room in your home and life for two young dogs, Lucky and Bonita are quite special and will repay you with lots of love and laughs.

Serpico
| | Adopted! |
 |
 |
| Serpico is one of the sweetest dogs you'll meet! Although he is 8 years old, he has plenty of energy when he is outside playing with his tennis ball or Frisbee. He can run very fast and returns the ball without you even asking for it. Serpico is great indoors, is housetrained and trustworthy to be left alone, and has wonderful manners. He loves to go on long walks but his favorite activity is cuddling and spending time with his human companions. Serpico would do best in a home without any other pets so that he can get all of the attention he deserves. If you are looking for a mellow dog and one that will make an amazing addition to your family, please contact your Home Visit Volunteer to set up a meeting with him! You won't be disappointed!

| Buddy36 |
| Adopted! |
 |
| Buddy is a classic yellow Labrador Retriever. He is one year and nine months old and tips the scales at just over 80 pounds. He is very handsome and has a good physique, loves to play, and is quite athletic. Buddy is trustworthy and mellow in the house and is housebroken. He has been with his foster family for just a little while, but he has easily moved into his new surroundings and become a part of the family. His foster family includes two large male Labs and a yellow tabby cat. Because Buddy had recent surgery he had to have limited physical activity for a while, but he has recovered and has had a visit to an off leash dog park and even swam a few laps in the family pool. The family also includes an eight year old granddaughter who visits frequently and Buddy soon became her favorite. He seems to like people of all ages, is very loving and is just overall a wonderful fellow.

Chudleigh
| | Adopted! |
 |
 |
| Chudleigh (pronounced "Cuddly") is a precious 2 year old chocolate lab who is full of energy and loves to gives hugs. His favorite toy is his stuffed duck that quacks, but he also likes to chase tennis balls and bring them back to you. He is housetrained, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash. Chudleigh does have some separation issues that he is working on so it would be best to go to a home where he has a human or canine buddy to stay with him. He gets along great with his foster family's kitty and other dogs, and is really good with kids! To meet Chudleigh, call your Home Visit Volunteer!

| Jim |
| Adopted! |
| Jim is a big teddy bear looking for his forever home. This 7 year old handsome boy is such a happy, easy-going guy, great with both people and other dogs. He is a perfect gentleman in the house - totally housebroken and content to lay around by his human's feet. He loves activity and is always ready for a ride in the car, a game of fetch, or a walk around the neighborhood. His love of exercise is good because Jim is currently 15-20 pounds overweight and needs an owner who is willing to feed him a healthy diet as well as give him plenty of opportunities to burn some energy. Invite Jim over for a visit and you’ll be sure to fall in love with him!

Bubba
| | Adopted! |
 |
 |
| Bubba is a wonderful, sweet, handsome prince charming. He is sociable, smart, eager to please and learn. He has settled in quickly but is still learning his new name. He is approximately 6/7yrs old medium/large frame, red Lab with a lovely temperament and heart of gold. Unfortunately he did not seem to have had much training but has been perfect inside. He is learning to play ball and enjoys rope and bone games with his new doggy pal. As with most dogs in a new environment he was initially "protective" when meeting another dog but his sociability takes over and he has settled in quite quickly. He likes to follow his nose and explore, so we recommend a secure yard. He loves hugging, kissing, stroking and being the center of attention. Also likes to talk but will stop if asked to. All around a wonderful, special character who would make a family (kids over 10), a couple or individual, compassionate, knowledgeable owner the very best companion.

| Rachel |
| Adopted! |
 |
Hi, my name is Rachel and I am a big, 90 pound, chocolate girl. I am looking for a home that will be committed to walking me and monitoring my weight. I may be big, but I am oh, so gentle. I am nice to the cat that lives in my foster home. I never chase or stalk her. I love to spend lots of time following the kids around. I haven't knocked one
over yet. I enjoy the other dogs in the house, but in all honesty I would be just as happy being an only dog and getting all of the loving. I am 6 years old, so don't worry, I am way past the puppy thing. I am housebroken and very trustworthy when left alone in the house. To learn more about me or to arrange to visit with me, please contact your Home Visit Volunteer!

Brody
Click Brody's picture to learn even more about him! |
| Adopted! |
 |
Brody is a very happy 18 month old puppy. He loves life and receiving lots of love. His favorite toys are bones and chew toys. He really enjoys stuffed toys (but they are destroyed in minutes!) It appears no one spent time with Brody on basic training - his foster family is working on this, but he will need to continue training in his new home. Brody is crate trained and housebroken. He is still in the puppy chewing phase and has taught his foster family not to leave shoes, socks and other items laying on the floor; things are pretty neat at home now! He has a cute habit of bringing you his bowl when he is finished eating. When he wants your attention he like to "talk" to you and is a great watch dog. He is good with older children and would love to be an only dog. His ideal family would be active and enjoy walks, hikes and playing ball. Brody had hip surgery to correct an old fracture that had not healed properly. He is now all healed and enjoying life, pain free! If you think this beautiful boy could be part of your family, please contact your Home Visit volunteer!

Ruby5
| | Adopted! | |
 |
| Meet Ruby! Ruby is a gorgeous, 4 year old black female lab who has a great disposition! She is very good with other dogs and cats and is doggie door trained - in her foster home, she has had no accidents in the house. Ruby is diabetic and requires an insulin shot twice a day. She has a significant visual impairment due to the diabetes, but has adapted very well with the transition to her foster home. Ruby likes to go on walks and is good on a leash. She also loves to play in the backyard and, despite her near-blindness - always brings you one of her babies when you walk in the door. If you are interested in learning more about Ruby, please contact your Home Visit Volunteer!

| Patty |
| Adopted! |
 |
My name is Patty and I am a 5 year old mellow gal. I am housetrained and have learned to use the doggy door. I'm very polite when going in or out with my foster parents... I always wait until given permission before I will go through the door. I have mastered basic commands and will even offer up a paw when requested. I'm very interested in the pool but haven't gotten up the nerve to take the plunge. I think it is just a matter of time, especially after watching my foster siblings enjoying it so much. I am happiest when I am in the same room as my humans. I must admit though, some people (ok - all people) say I have a bit of a weight problem. The vet told us my thyroid gland isn't quite working right, so now I take very inexpensive medicine and I'm already feeling better now. I'm looking forward to getting back into shape so I can really play ball. I am good with other dogs and with older children (10 yrs +). Due to my calm nature I suspect cats won't bother me (or me them) at all. If you are looking for a lovable, mellow companion, look no further. My foster parents say I am just the sweetest thing they have seen in a long time, and I think they are right!

| Lanie |
| Adopted! |
 |
Lanie is super sweet and just loves to be around you. She is a wonderful dog to cuddle with and will scoot closer just to be near you and rest her head on your lap. Lanie is a very gentle 5 year old girl who loves to work out her energy by playing ball in the backyard - but is calm and quiet when she comes inside. She is completely housebroken and can be trusted to be left alone when you are gone. She rides nicely in the car, is great on walks, and is good with other dogs and kids. Lanie is a smaller lab weighing only about 45 pounds, so if you are looking for a petite girl she may be the right fit for you. Please call your Home Visit Volunteer if you are interested in learning more about her. She'll make someone a wonderful companion!

Sweety
| | Adopted! |
 |
 |
| Sweety is a 45 pound 6 year old DARLING! She is very sweet and outgoing. Her name says it all! She is active outside but calms down quickly inside. She just wants to be next to you and relax. She knows basic commands and comes when you call her. She hasn't had any accidents in the house. Sweety doesn't yet know how to use the doggie door, but we are sure she will pick it up quickly. She loves people and gives lots of gentle kisses. She gets along well with the other dog in her foster home, but she seems to be more interested in people (though she has not been around kids yet). Sweety loves to play with tennis balls, but does get a little defensive when another dog tries to take it away. If you'd like to meet Sweety, please contact your Home Visit volunteer! |
Jetta
| | Adopted! | |
 |
| Jetta is a beautiful, shiny black 8 month old female lab that lives to please. She is young and energetic, yet gentle and loving. She is housebroken and knows her basic commands. She will also fall down and play dead if you point at her and say "bang!" Jetta gets along great with other dogs, has no interest in cats and thinks children are the best things ever. If you would like to meet Jetta, please contact your Home Visit Volunteer.

| Sparky |
| Adopted! |
 |
All about Sparky, written by Sparky's foster Dad: When I went to pick up Sparky a week ago, I crawled in his kennel - He jumped so much (and over my head!), it took me 5 minutes just to get a collar on him. And there was DLRR's Foster Home Coordinator outside the kennel door with some doggie downer for me to give him for the
ride home, looking at me in the kennel with Sparky, my glasses on the floor.
"What was she thinking asking me to take this spaz boy home for the holidays?" When I've visited him in the kennel in the past, he has been one hyperactive boy. I warned her I might have to return him before Christmas as I have my elderly, infirm mother flying in for the holidays.
Now, a week later, who is Sparky? Only about the coolest dog you'd want to know.
Before we go out of the house, he'll "sit" at the door and "stay", until you wave your hand that he can go out... On walks, he can "loose leash" almost the whole way!!! Right at my side with no pulling! Amazing! (Now I did say "almost" the whole
way... we're still working together).
"Doggie Door, house trained? No problem for him! Kennel? Naw, he is good in the house, and sleeps in my bedroom.
What is one of his favorite times of day? Doggie park for 45 minutes to an hour to work out puppy energy...and play with everyone - and they play with him... Run, Run, Run!!!! What else about Sparky? He is playful, fun, and loves people and dogs. He might be a little too much for small children, but fine with older kids. He is a puppy and has that energy (jump up and down when you come
home, I'm SO happy you're here!). He also loves to just "hang" with
his people.
What can I say, he is just about the coolest dog you will want to know.

| Arlen |
| Adopted! |
 |
Arlen is a sweet, mellow 2 year old boy who loves to go for walks and follow you around the house. Arlen is housebroken and likes to hang around with his foster parents and siblings. He really doesn't like his crate at all! But Arlen does not show an interest in things he shouldn't get into and can be trusted out of his kennel. He gets along with other dogs but has not been around cats or children. His energy level is average for his age and likes to play ball and take long walks. Arlen does well on a leash and loves to get out and about and see what is going on. Although he likes to play he does not show much interest in toys. If you are looking for a companion who is waiting to be taught about frisbees and tug ropes, who wants to be around you and to give and receive some TLC, Arlen is the boy for you! Call your Home Visit Volunteer to meet him!

Shane
| | Adopted! |
 |
 |
| Shane is a sweet 7 year old boy who LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to play ball. In fact, when he’s not retrieving he can usually be found carrying one (or two) tennis balls around the house in his mouth. He is playful and gentle with children, as well as friendly with other dogs. Shane has the appearance of an English Lab, with a big block head and shorter stature. He enjoys long walks, although he could use a little more training on the leash as he seems inexperienced in this area. In the house he can be trusted to only chew on his toys/bones, and he loves to snuggle up for attention. Shane is a beautiful boy who would love to find his forever home.

Almond
| | Adopted! |
 |
 |
| Almond is a gorgeous, purebred 11 month old girl who would love to be a lap dog. She is very sweet, affectionate, learns quickly and wants to please. Despite her large size (80 lbs), Almond is still very much a puppy who has puppy behavior and energy. She needs a family who will exercise her a lot, provide good leadership for her, and monitor her closely in the house as she has a tendency (as all Lab puppies do!) to get into trouble if she isn't kept busy or watched. Her foster family is working hard to teach her what are appropriate toys and what are not. She is a terrific ball player - loves to run after balls and bring them back to you. She also is great on jogs with her foster mom - 3 miles is a piece of cake for this long legged girl! Almond is crate trained and housebroken, and knows the commands "sit" and "down." She loves to spend time with her humans, giving and getting affection, but may be too exuberant for very little children. She's picky about her canine friends - she will need to meet any potential canine siblings prior to adoption. Almond will make a terrific pet for an active, patient family who is committed to her training. |
| Molly14 |
| Adopted! |
 |
Molly is a medium sized, 2 year old chocolate female with light brownish/yellow eyes. She is housebroken and crate trained. Molly walks nicely on a leash and is fine in the car. She gets along very well with her two foster brothers and will do best with a canine brother or sister. We do not know how she is with cats. Molly is very sweet and affectionate and wants to be close to her foster parents (especially her Mom). She loves to receive kisses and cuddles and gives back a lot. Her favorite toy is a Nylabone and she loves to swim. Molly is a bit wary of strangers and strange noises. but her foster family continues to socialize her to give her more confidence. She would be best suited to a quieter home and family that does not have too many comings and goings, and where someone is home most of the time. We know Molly came from a home without children and do not yet know how she reacts to children. She is beginning to learn one or two basic commands and, like all young labs, will benefit from ongoing training. Please give us a call if you would like to meet Molly!

Coda
| | Adopted! |
 |
 |
| Coda is one lucky little man! He was found wandering the streets of Tucson, scared and alone, with a note from his former family attached to his collar. Coda was fortunate enough to have a community of friendly people offering him food and water, but he was too scared to get too close. One of our DLRR Foster Families happened to drive past and see him, encouraged him to get close, and brought him home to a warm bed and plenty of love.
At one year and seven months of age, Coda is full of life and energy. He's currently about 65 pounds but is pretty skinny and should bulk up to at least 80 pounds. Coda is an absolute sweetheart! Because he was abandoned on the streets, he's timid at first, but he's quick to warm up to people and really just wants to be loved. Coda loves to cuddle and will snuggle up beside you any time you ask! He happily gives his foster family all the gentle labby kisses they want, and he knows sit, down, stay, come, and paw. Coda walks well on a leash and is a dream in the car. He gets along well with other dogs and children, but he has not yet been tested with cats. He is housetrained and has no bad habits in the house. Coda is a very quick learner and will be the shining star of any obedience course.
Do you have room in your heart and home for this lucky lab?

Faith
| | Adopted! |
 |
 |
| We all have to have a little faith in our lives and this beautiful 8 year old girl is the meaning of just that... We rescued Faith within hours of being euthanized because she had a growth on one of her paws. She had surgery to have it removed and has now been given a clean bill of health. This sweet soul is completely trained in all areas. She knows and obeys when given a command, loves to play fetch with ropes and balls and will drop them at your feet each time. Car rides and walks are also at the top of her list. She is completely trustworthy when left alone, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She would do great as an only dog as well. So you see... without faith, we wouldn't have been blessed with saving yet another precious dog and finding her a great home. If you would like to receive the best gift this holiday season, please call to meet our girl!

| | Adopted! | |
 |
After two years together, Bijou's owner tearfully returned him to DLRR due to circumstances beyond her control. He is the love of her life and she is counting on us to find him a great home. Bijou is a 3 year old Lab mix that is a gentle soul and who is a little shy at first. He has big expressive eyes that look intently at you when you talk to him and listens to every word. Receiving and giving love is at the top of his list of pleasures. He also likes to go for walks and runs. Bijou is crate trained, but he is housebroken and trustworthy in the house. He is good with other dogs, cats and children. If you can give this loyal and loving boy a forever home, please contact us! Bijou's adoption fee is $100.

| Cocoa6 |
| Adopted! |
| Cocoa is a beautiful 5 year old chocolate female. She is average sized, medium activity and is good with other dogs and cats. She is a bit fearful of smaller children so older children would be better for her. She LOVES to play ball with her foster siblings and to receive affection from her human companions. She is housetrained and sleeps quietly in a crate during the night even if the door is left open. She will need other canine companions as she gets very nervous about being in her crate when left alone. She is trustworthy to be left loose in the house with her companions though. She has the biggest, most beautiful brown eyes and knows how to use them to her advantage!!! She knows all of her basic commands, will offer up a paw if requested, and is pretty good on a leash. She is a very affectionate gal once she has gained the trust of her humans. If you are looking for a sweet, affectionate companion for your family, then please contact your Home Visit Volunteer to arrange a meeting with Cocoa.
