Angel5
New update on Angel 5: She has become blind in just a week. The vet said she has Sudden Acquired Retina Degeneration. She is learning to maneuver through the house and get to the doggy door to go outside. She is still the same loving girl that is looking for a loving home. Angel 5 came to us as an owner turn in and was broken hearted and scared when we first received her. She has now blossomed into a loving companion. She is a young 10 year old. Her favorite pastime is sitting beside you receiving love. She is housebroken and uses a doggy door. She is trustworthy left alone in the house. She is good with older children that are good with dogs. Although she is with four other Labs in her foster home and does fine, she would like to be your only dog. If you would like to meet her, please contact us..

Snoop

Snoop is a 6 yr old Chocolate Male(neutered). He have had him about 10 days and absolutely love him. He is a sweetie. Very smart. Housebroken and well-behaved. He loves to go for walks and runs, does well on leash. He loves everyone he meets, very friendly. During our walks he likes some dogs, some he doesnt like. We bought him a bed at Costco, which he loves. He sleeps uncrated thru the nite next to our bed. We leave him alone in the house for 3-4 hrs with no problems. Snoop is a real catch. He would do best is a home w/o other pets so he can get all the love & attention. We have totally fallen in love with Snoop, and you will too.

Malee

Hi, my name is Malee and I'm looking for my forever home. I love my foster family, there are two humans Terry and Cindy and my favorite pal is Murphie another girl like me except she is chocolate and very shy (she is coming around now and gives me kisses), the other two girls are little Chihuahua's Tango and Mambo, that like to bark - alot. I do not bark much, once in a while I bark at the two boy dogs next door when they bark at my foster sisters. My foster mom likes to laugh at me when I toss my squeak toy in the air and catch and squeak, squeak, squeak, and shake that silly toy. My foster dad takes Murphie and me outside every morning and evening and throws us these soft footballs that we run and catch - I just love it. My foster mom tells me I need someone that has a lot of time to be with me, because I do much better with lots and lots of attention. This is probably because I have not had much stability in my young two years. Foster mom says I am very sweet but needs lots of love, pets, hugs, walks, play, and time from someone. My foster family gives me my share of attention just like they give my foster sisters, Murphie and I get the first pets and then the little girls and then we all go outside and run around in the yard and get more pets than dinner when they come home from work everyday. For me, though having all that loving would be soooo cool, for me, I would share with another furry sister or brother though. I am very healthy and not over active for my age of two. I am housebroken and do well in a grate if needed. I do prefer to be the # 1 dog and sometime that can scare some people but my foster mom and dad say I do best around people that are calm and quite so I stay calm. My foster mom says I like female humans better than male humans - I quess I relate better to girls than boys. Obviously, I get along with other dogs but don't know if I like cats or not, not sure I know what cats are. Please consider me for your forever dog, I am getting very attached to my foster family and will miss them lots and lots, but they want the best for me and want me to have a special bond and love from my own special human. I would be happy to meet you if you are wanting a loving, black, brown eyed female in your life. Love and Kisses Malee.

Josephine
Josephine (JoJo) is a " young" 8 year old female chocolate lab. She is good with other dogs (not sure about cats) and weighs 68 lbs. She knows sit , shake, and come, loves to ride in the car and walks pretty well on a leash. She is house and crate trained and has good house manners. JoJo was rescued from the pound. She can be extremely shy around certain new people she meets. JoJo is very sweet. JoJo has made several new friends (females, canine and kids). JoJo likes her canine foster sister who has been showing her "the ropes" and would probably do well in a home with another dog. She will need a family that has the patience and understanding to work with her.

Toby & Dash

Meet Toby and Dash! These 4 year old brothers are a bonded pair that must be adopted together. They have been in a foster home for a short period of time and this is what we know about the boys so far:

Both dogs are well behaved and take correction when needed. Toby and Dash have not been around children but they do not jump and seem to be very gentle. We think they should be fine with kids of all ages. We are not sure how they are with cats and other dogs yet. Both are great when riding in the car and after the inital excitement they like cuddle up together for the ride. They are currently being crated when left alone, but most likely will be fine in the house without supervision. They go into the crate very easily and seem to quickly fall asleep. Toby and Dash are very sweet boys with medium energy -- they love to nap as much as they love to play. They love to hang out in the backyard and wait at attention for the birds to chirp so they can chase them in the trees. They have shown no interest in the pool and walk carefully when near the water. So far Toby and Dash have not let out a bark; they are just happy to get belly rubs and lots of love! Be ready to get a paw tap if you stop rubbing!

Dash (Black) responds to basic commands very well and doesn't even mind when his brother steals his toy. He does not pull on the leash and loves going on walks. Toby (Chocolate) may need some additional training as he pulls on the leash (not too hard though) and responds to sit and down on his own terms, or if you have a treat. Toby will need to lose some weight; his foster family has him on a diet and exercise plan! He sometimes bullies his brother to get to his food, so he will need to be watched when eating. The boy loves to eat! If you want double the labbie love call Toby and Dash's foster family today to schedule a meeting!

Elliot
Hi I'm Elliot. Me and my two brothers were saved by DLLR. I am in a foster home right now. My foster parents are very patient with me cause I am shy. The place they saved us from was pretty bad. I had never been touched by a person before so at first, I get a little scared when someone tries to pet me. Now, because of my foster parents, I like being petted and love to play with bones and toys. I am crate trained and have not had any accidents in the house. I get along good with my foster brother n 2 sisters. Daisy is my favorite. She is 2 years old and has just as much energy as I do. We like to run and pay in the backyard. It is important for me to go to a home with another dog. That is when I feel the most safe. I am learning to trust people and I see why my foster siblings get so excited about all the attention we get from our parents. I love being around all the other dogs but sometimes I just like to explore on my own. My foster Daddy calls me "Christopher Columbus" I don't know who that is but that's ME. If you would like to meet me, please call my foster mom and dad-woof

Boo Boo
BooBoo is a happy 1 yr old high energy yellow male puppy. He is has tons of energy so his new family must be aware that he needs lots of training and attention. BooBoo will need another dog in the family to be happiest. His kennel foster said that he is good with small kids and other dogs. He wasn't interested in the family cat so with consistent training we think he could be cat safe. BooBoo loves to play fetch with the ball and he will even bring it back. Again this sweet boy knows nothing and should only go to a home willing to train him and help him adjust to life in a happy and secure home. This sweetheart is very eager to please his people and should be a quick learner. If you think you meet the criteria to love this great dog then call his foster today.

Katie

Hi I'm Katie and I love you already! I'm a 1 year old black female on the smaller side, weighing in the 38-41 lb range. I was a stray who found my way to the wonderful people at DLRR. I was in a foster home for a very short time, but could not stay. I had a foster brother and sister lab, but sister and I did not get along during feeding time, which scared my human little sister. My foster mom wasn't sure if I was food aggressive or if it was the fact that my foster lab sister is funny around food herself and was being funny with me. Other than that, we got along great. I take treats ever so gently from your hand and I did not beg even once when my foster humans ate their food near me. So I may or may not need my space from other dogs during feeding time – foster mom couldn't decide. I am a playful dog who enjoys walks. I am excited when I see my leash. I am a little more excited as we go out the door, but once out, I walk pretty nicely on the leash. I know how to sit when told and have not tried to get up on furniture. I will bolt out the door, so I need some work on that. Foster mom isn't sure if I'm housebroken – I wasn't there long enough for her to decide. I did have potty accidents my first day in the house, but who wouldn't be a little nervous. I sleep nicely in my crate and I did not have any potty accidents while in my crate, although I enjoy a dog beg. I love dog toys but am destructive with stuffed ones. I am still a puppy, so I probably will get into stuff not meant for me, although I didn't during my short stay. Because of my age, I will need to go to a home where I am not left without my people for long hours. If you think that we sound like a good fit, please call to meet me. I'll be waiting, wagging my tail. Woof - Katie

Kilroy
Hi! My name is Kilroy. I've been through some tough changes already in my short 1 ½ year of life. Naturally I was a bit scared at first… but boy, since I got to know my new foster family and realized they were not going to hurt me, I am much better. I REALLY like my canine foster brother and follow him around everywhere. He's much older and can't play too much with me, so any chance I get, I play with my foster parents or with any type of toy I can find. I can't help it, but I just LOVE to play and run around in the back yard. Although I have lots of energy and love my playtime, I can also just relax and take a nap once in a while. I also sleep good through the night. Oh, and another thing I just love to do, is go for walks. I don't pull on the leash, but I do sometimes get distracted because there is just so much to see and explore… I guess in general you could say that I still need some training because I'm so young, but I am a very fast learner. My foster parents think I would be great with a family with kids, because they probably want to play as much as I do and because I'm super gentle and friendly to everyone I meet! So far I've also gotten along with every dog I've met, so a canine brother or sister to play with would be AWESOME! Although I still have a lot of puppy in me, I am already housebroken and know how to sit and am working on some other commands. I'm especially good when there is a treat involved. I tell you…that's another thing I just LOVE: food and treats! But my foster parents say it's ok for now, because I am very skinny and need to fill in a little. What do you think? Will you pick me to join your family?

Cadbury
Cadbury is a mellow chocolate male about 4 years old, weighs around 65 pounds, and has a beautiful brown and shiny coat. He has a very pleasant disposition, but can be a little on the timid side. He gets along very well with everyone and loves to play with his foster brothers. He is very fast and agile. Like most Labs, he can swim just fine, but he'd just as soon watch as participate. Loud noises make him a little anxious, but he is quick to settle. He is housebroken, not destructive inside or outside, does not chew, only barks at disturbances, and is a great all around dog. He even gets along well with the family cat. He loves to go on car rides and hikes, and is a great traveler. He is calm and quiet in the house. Cadbury is very affectionate and loves attention. He reminds one of the chocolate that he's named after, very sweet. He will be a wonderful addition to some lucky family.

Labrador Life Line's annual Heart Dog Auction

DLRR is getting in new dogs and adopting them out every day, and while we do our best to update this page frequently, we may have dogs that aren't listed, or some of the dogs here may have been adopted. Even if we don't have the dog you want right now, we would encourage you to begin the process. Complete our online adoption application, and answer all of our questions about the kind of dog you want. We'll contact you as soon as possible after we receive your application. We usually get more black labs than yellows and more yellows than chocolates, and also in general more males than females. If you are looking for a particular color or sex, you may need to be patient. All DLRR dogs are spayed/neutered, vet checked and up to date on all their vaccinations.
We need foster homes!! The number of dogs we can rescue is limited by the space we have to care for them. Volunteer to foster and you could save a dog's life!
