Dozer

Hello my Prospective Pet Parent! Please adopt me. I'm a wonderful dog; a Black Lab to boot! My name is 'Dozer,' and would love to be with a family who is nice to me. I need a house, a medium-sized (or big) yard, and someone who will play with me. Before my Foster Mom & Dad, I was all alone with no one to play with. The other people kept me locked up during the day and outside all night; they just dumped food and water in my bowl and left me by myself all the time. I just want to be loved.

Age: Approximately 3 years-old
Gender: Neutered
All Vaccines are current including my Bordatella and Flea & Tick Treatment.
I LIKE:
I love to run and be with people!
I'm a very smart boy and is very, energetic.
I like to play with people and tennis balls. (I may not fetch them yet, but I like to run after them).
I DON'T LIKE:
I'm not 'big' on having other dogs because I get too excited.

Call Tamara at 602-284-2421 if you want to meet me.

Ellie
This is Ellie, she was rescued from the Show Low Humane Society, she is 4 yrs old, spayed, vaccinated, and for some reason has a docked tail. She is very sweet! Walks really well on a leash, loves car rides, and does not jump up on you. She is good with cats, should be watched at first until she gets comfortable with them, other dogs may be ok. She really needs a home where she has room to roam and play, right now she is in a cat foster's home and she is not thrilled. The rescue she is under is asking a low donation fee, and she comes with a new matching collar and leash, bed, toys, food, brush, shampoo, bones etc. All she will need is a water and food bowl. She is so adorable and so well behaved!

For more information on meeting Ellie, please call Michelle at 480.298.1767 or email littlered67vette@yahoo.com.

Raider and Hadley
Both dogs must be adopted together!

Raider (right) is a purebred yellow lab who is an 8 year old male. He is the sweetest dog! He has grown up around young kids, babies, cats and other dogs and gets along easily with all of them! He has never shown aggression towards kids or other animals. During the cooler winter months he prefers to be outside where he can play during the day but loves to come inside at night. He does not get up onto any furniture and does not chew up anything or have accidents in the house. He does not jump on people or bark. Raider does have epilepsy which is a seizure disorder, but since he's been on his medication for about a year he hasn't had a seizure. He takes his pills easily in a piece of cheese and only needs bloodwork done every 4-6 months. He is seriously the sweetest dog ever!

Hadley (left) is a purebred white lab who is 4 years old. He still has alot of puppy energy but does not chew things up or destroy anything in the house. He will play fetch for hours if you are willing and plays very nicely with our children. He has grown up around kids, cats and other dogs and has never shown aggression. He does not get up on the furniture in the house and is completley housebroken even for long periods. He does not jump on people and will only give 2-3 warnings barks when someone pulls into driveway

Both dogs monitor their own food and love to swim! They are the best of friends so we want them to stay together. We are looking for a family that has older kids because we want them to find a forever home with an established family. A yard is an absolute must because they love running around and playing with each other.

For more information on meeting Raider and Hadley, please call Holly at 602.793.2299 or email :candhnuttle@yahoo.com.

Jessie
Jessie is a yellow lab mix. She was a rescue dog and is approximately 9 months old and weighs 45lbs. She has been spade, her dew claws removed, is up to date on all shots and is microchipped. She is a very playful sweet puppy but does have a lot of energy. She is very good with small children, but would probably be best in a home with kids over the age of 4 as she is bigger then she realizes when playing with the little ones. She does good around other dogs, but has not been around cats or any other animals. She is kennel trained when we are not home and stays in our bedroom at night. She does need basic training for jumping, chewing, and begging, normal bad puppy behaviours but nothing extreme. She loves playing fetch and loves running in the park near our home. We know she will be a great dog and hope someone who has a little more time to dedicate to her can give her a new loving home.

For more information on meeting Jessie, please call Molly at 480-695-6199 or email mollymoroson@aol.com.

Gype
I first met Gype in Florida when my roommates brought him home from a neighbor who had him tied to a tree. He made the journey with me to Arizona, and has been with my family for over 6 years. When I met him he had already learned a few simple commands. He knows how to sit, stay and shake hands, a trick that my five-year-old really loves. He also is house broken.

Gype is very gentle with everyone, but can become instinctive if he senses fear in a stranger. I have also engaged in some rather rough play with Gype and he has never harmed me. In fact he finds this play to be very enjoyable and engaging. He can also become excited when seeing a dog in the hopes to make a new friend.

I'm not sure of his exact age, but I approximate him to be a ten-year-old chocolate lab. I'm rather sad to see him go, but the downturn in the economy has led my family to move to an apartment. Our current dwelling has made him a bit docile. I believe that Gype needs a home where he can run and play, and hope that he can find a better home.

If you are interested in meeting Gype, please email mirandaniemann@gmail.com.

Harley
Hi – My name is Harley. I just turned 1 year old. I am mostly Black Lab but they say I have a touch of Pit in me. Everyone tells me I'm gorgeous. I was abandoned by my family at a mere 7 weeks old when they up and moved. Lucky for my brother and I, a neighbor came to our rescue. We were happy together for just about a year, until one of the kids came down with severe allergies and asthma that they blamed on us. So we went to a foster home. My brother found a new family right away. I'm still looking for just the right fit.

I love my foster family a lot and I know they love me, but they have 4 dogs now so I'd like to find a home by myself or maybe with just one other dog so I can get more attention. I'm housebroken, I can use the doggy door and I'll stay in a crate for a while if I have to but I prefer to be free in the house so I can be with you. I don't chew up stuff much unless I'm really bored. I have a Kong toy with treats inside that I like to play with. I sleep on a bed of my own in my dad's bedroom. I follow him everywhere. When his friends come over, I might bark a couple of times but then I play with them. I jump up on them sometimes and they don't like that – especially the kids - but I'm really trying to work on that. They all love me and wish they could take me home.

I don't especially like the cats that I see in the neighborhood, so I'm hoping you don't have any in the house. I love to look out of the front security door and watch people walk by and I like to bird watch. I go for walks on a leash in the early evening and I like it a lot but I pull a bit on the leash so I will need you to work with me on that. I learn fast and I'm eager to please. My previous family didn't spend much time training me but since I'm young, I think I'll pick up on training real fast. My foster parents put me on a bit of a diet. They said I may not have been getting enough exercise and was definitely being over-fed. I will sit for treats but I don't beg from the table. I'm pretty calm and will lie down while you watch TV, work on the computer or when you're eating your dinner.

If you are interested in adopting me, please call Julie at 602.254.6696 or jhoffheins@cox.net.

Rocky
Approximate one to two year old, very friendly, and of wonderful disposition Pit-bull-Mix Male. Rocky, as I am calling him as his foster mom, was found at a bus stop on Wednesday (March 9) morning at 32nd Street and Thomas Rd, after a man in a pick-up truck drove up, let the dog out and then drove off. A Phoenix bus narrowly missed Rocky as I and other bystanders tried to get him out of the intersection. Rocky then proceeded to try and eat rocks (hence the name) because he was so hungry. I coaxed him into my car and am now fostering him until a good and welcoming home is found. Rocky is playful and listens well to commands. He is very attentive and gives me his right and then left paw when requested. He is not a barker. He has a great disposition, doesn't jump up, and would be a great pet for families with older kids or singles or a couple. Rocky is looking for a home where he is wanted and can offer his love and affection.

If you are interested in adopting Rocky please call Judy at 602.568.7256 or email Judy.Keane@mihs.org.
Sammy
Sammy is looking for a good home! Female, nuetered, about 8 years of age, about 50lbs. She is house broken and knows some commands such as sit, lay down and roll over. She does bark at the neighbors sometimes when she hears noises, but the audible bark collar usually works. Sammy doesn't mind other dogs once she gets to know them. She can swim good and great at playing fetch. She would like a back yard to run around in with all the energy she has. I have two little kids under the age of 2 now and too busy which is why I need to find another home for her. Adoption fee is $25 and includes her leash, bark collar, two dog beds, her sweater, crate (but she never uses it anymore), and what ever else I have.

If you are interested in adopting Sammy please e-mail Mike at mfarley@cox.net.
Packer
Hi, I am Packer. I am a 5 year old Black Lab. Sadly my father and I were turned loose when our owner was evicted and then arrested. I was running loose for two weeks when my old neighbor caught me and brought me to the vet to be checked out. I lost a lot of weight and I was limping pretty bad. She has known me since I was a puppy and wanted to make sure I was going to get better. She spent lots of money on me running tests. It turns out I have Valley Fever. I am responding very well to the Medication that I will be on for quite a while, but my prognosis is very good. My limp and cough are gone now, and I have put on some weight. I am a very well behaved boy that would love to sit with you, or run and play ball. I have very nice manners and do well in the house and do well with other dogs. I have been around special needs Teenagers, but no one knows how I am with small childern (probably just fine) or cats. It appears that I am trained, and I do not get on the furniture. All my vaccines are current, and they tell me that I will be neutered soon (I was not well enough when I came to the vet). But it will be done before I go to a new home. I do have an adoption fee and forms to make sure you will take good care of me.

If you think I might be the right dog for you, please contact my friends at Alta Vista Vet (that is where I am staying) and ask for John. You can reach him at John@altavistavet.com or call him at 602-265-3198
Buddy

Hi! My name is "Buddy" and I am a 7 year 100% yellow lab! I am big, sweet, soulful and full of playful energy. I am extremely strong and like to chase bunnies or small dogs when I am being walked. So we will need to avoid those two thing when we are out. My current person is too small to hold me back all the time, so she is hoping to find me a new home where I can run, play and be super happy. I love to swim and play with the tennis ball. I also love to chew sticks. I am kennel trained, house trained and can sit and lay down. I do have an issue with the whole "staying" thing, I get easily distracted.

I am an alfa male, so I need to be the only boy dog in a home. A female is ok, I live with one now and we get along great. I would probably be best if I were the only dog, since I am a little full of myself. I have not been around kids much, but I am good friends with a cat. I would really love a home, in the mountains with a big yard that has a fence. Sometimes I stroll away after a bug or squirrel so I really need a fence to help me with my boundary issues. I also love to ride in the car with my head out the window, so if you like company on your road trips, I'm there! If you are interested in having a wonderful, snuggle dog with a few quirks and a big heart, I am the dog for you.

Please contact my person: Aliceson Smith at alicesons@q.com or phone : (520) 648-1870 and leave a message. My person, Aliceson, loves me very much and really wants my new home to be super special, so don't be surprised if she asks to come for a visit, with me of course!
Goggle
Goggle was found abandoned on the streets, very malnourished. He's very tall and thin but much bigger compared to when he was first found. He's fawn colored with white socks on his feet. He has been neutered and is believed to be about 5 years old, has his ears floppy and long tail. He does have some scars that and unknown but he's a huge love bug who thinks he's a 10 pound lap dog. He loves to sleep. Loves to stay warm, be pet & loves his ears rubbed.

He's been around other dogs, a kitten and young children and does very well. When he's hungry and wants a snack he's been known to counter surf so make sure and put snacks away. He's very fast! Loves to chase birds & rabbits. He is housetrained, doggy door trained, is leashed trained but doesn't like it.

If you are interested in Goggle, please call Kristie at 623.826.0225 or email mrobertzz@aol.com .
Jake
Jake is a 7 years old, shiny black lab mix he has been neutered; weighs about 60 lbs. He is a very good protector for your home has great hearing! He's grown up with two younger children from their birth so he's used to all the sounds and loves to run & play. The only thing he doesn't like is his feet to be played with. He currently lives with 4 other dogs so as long as he's introduced slowly to other dogs he's usually fine.

Recently he was brought to a trainer for training and developed an infection in his neck which is in the process of healing but he may always have a bump on his neck from the infection. He's used to dirt bikes, actually likes to run right beside of you while your testing out your bike also LOVES water. When he was young he was abused by a neighbor.

He has had a history of food aggression but with training he has started to grow out of it. If a human takes his bowl he's fine, no problem it's when the other dogs would get to close he'd get defensive but with work he's gotten much better. He needs a human to be the pack leader. He's an active, loving dog who would be great alone or with a friend. He has been around a kitten so with slow introduction that would be fine. He is housetrained, doggy door trained, leash trained.

If you are interested in Jake, please call Kristie at 623.826.0225 or email mrobertzz@aol.com .
Rocky and Gwen
Rocky is a chocolate Lab full of energy. He is very vocal and enjoys playing with Kong ball. Of course petting is good too. His sister, Gwen, quiet and a bit reserved. She gives great bear hugs on command only. She is all about petting and playing just a little. They have been crate trained together and are very attached to each other. I would love for them to get a home together. I know its a lot to ask for such big dogs. They both walk on a leash, but Rocky is a bit strong willed. They both get a long with kids and adults. They get super excited with people and wont be quiet until they get to play with them. They are used to having a fenced yard to play in and then sleeping in their crate at bedtime. They have been raised around cats and so once introduced they are good. In fact, when I brought home a kitten they thought he was a present for them. To this day that cat crawls into the crate to snuggle with them. They get along with children too. They like to give them a lick or two.

If you would like to meet Rocky and Gwen please email contact Angela at angela.hensley08@gmail.com or call 623.980.8877.
Bill
ill is an awesome dog! Everyone loves him as he is calm, somewhat shy but works through it quickly and loves attention . Bill is good with other dogs. He is currently in a foster home looking for his forever home. Bill is a true gem! Bill is about 4-5 yrs old and is one of over 100 dogs currently being rescued from unsanitary and unsuitable conditions in Tonopah, AZ.

If you would like to meet Bill please email contact Shelley at shelleystolts@yahoo.com - www.arizonadesertdogs.com.

Also, if you would like to make a donation to help out the rescue efforts that remain to bring these dogs out of the desert before the deadly summer heat and up to rented kennel spaces in Phoenix where they will receive the necessary medical care, spay/neuter, vaccinations, foster homes and ultimately loving permanent homes, go to www.pacc911.org, click donate and in the description put "desert dogs".
Pepper
Meet Pepper! She is an all black lab mix who is 8 years old. She is very smart, and a big softie. She loves attention so she will need someone who will pay her lots of it. She is very good with children, and gets along with other dogs. There has never been a cat in the house, but she does bark if a cat comes around the fence and taunts her. Pepper is an inside dog, although she goes freely from inside to out with the use of a doggy door. She does not get in the pool, but she does like to dip her front paws on the steps, and drink out of the pool. She needs a nice home with lots of love, and maybe even a little buddy or two (doggy or people). Please adopt her!

If you are interested in Pepper, please email Arlene at akgolden@cox.net.
